If you are looking for some good waves to ride close to Porto, join our surf lessons in Vila Nova de Gaia. Our team of professional instructors is ready to show you plenty of different surf spots in the area and will make you live the experience of a lifetime.
We offer lessons for both adults and children from the age of 8 years old. Our classes are designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers; we will choose the beach depending on your level and the tides. We want you to make the most of your surf lesson, for this reason, the maximum number of participants in our group lessons is 6 people per instructor.
Meeting & Preparation
Since our meeting point depends on the beach we will be surfing on, we will contact you to let you know the exact meeting place before your lesson. If you are staying in Porto, we offer a free transfer service to come and pick you up from a designated meeting point, which will be shared with you before your lesson and then bring you back from the beach afterward. On the day of your surf class, you will meet your instructor and receive the equipment, which will be based on your age and your experience. You can get changed and store your personal belongings in our van.
Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. The exact start times are available in advance. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

My dad (62) and I (29) had a blast with our trainer Igor from Pura Vida Surfing last week. We got picked up in central Porto and drove 30 minutes to a beach in Silvade. After a thorough introduction into the safety precautions and our first moves on the board our small group of seven got into the waves. We felt very well taken care of throughout the whole class. Igor and his colleague guided us into the water and spotted the perfect waves for us to get started. After about an hour we both managed to stay on the board and "surf" for a couple of seconds which was so fun. Although it is really exhausting we had such a blast. One of our favourite experiences during our stay in Porto by far - we can wholeheartedly recommend this class :)

Had an amazing time at this surf camp! The instructors checked the conditions every single day to make sure we surfed wherever the waves were best — really showed how much they cared about giving us a great experience. All the surf teachers were fantastic: patient, skilled, and genuinely fun to be around. The vibe throughout the whole camp was great, with a real sense of community among everyone there. Can’t recommend this camp enough — already looking forward to going back!

Very fun activity! The surf instructors are great, always give you tips and you feel like you're in good hands. They also give good restaurant tips :)
You can tell that they teach with passion. Not generic or too touristy, which is why you should plan more time than stated on the booking, as the time depends on the waves and the ability of the participants.
