What to Expect

Our ski lessons for children aged 7 to 16 in Alpendorf combine small groups, certified ski instructors, and plenty of fun to help every participant improve their skiing skills. Nestled in the heart of the stunning Alpendorf ski area in St. Johann im Pongau, the resort offers a picturesque setting with a variety of slopes suitable for all skill levels. Right next to the slope, you will find modern facilities that make your day on the snow all the more enjoyable.

After a warm welcome and group allocation, the lesson begins with a joint warm-up, ensuring that everyone is ready and eager to start. The focus is on introducing the children to the fundamental techniques of skiing. With the guidance of our certified children’s ski instructors, participants will learn the basics such as stopping, turning, and managing their speed on gentle slopes. These skills are essential for building confidence and laying the groundwork for more advanced skiing.

Throughout the 3.5 hour lesson, groups of up to 6 participants ensure a personalised approach, allowing instructors to give individual attention to each child. As the course progresses, children will practice on a variety of slopes, possibly including some lift rides to experience different terrains. The grand finale of the course is an organised speed race on the last day, where every participant receives a medal, providing a memorable end to their skiing adventure. We take time for you, ensuring that from consultation to course completion, we support each participant individually.

Meeting Time

We meet at the top station of the Gernkogelbahn – 6-seater chairlift to Kreistenalm, 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.

Alternatively, you can drop off your child at 09:00 at one of our SnowWorld ski rental shops. Our instructors will take the children to the ski area. Since the drop-off takes place at the shop, parents do not need a ski pass

Please do not take the gondola; use the 6-seater chairlift instead

Ski Pass

All skiers need a ski pass from the first day of the lessons. You can buy your ski pass at the ski lift ticket office or online before the first lesson.

Please be aware that you need a ski pass to take your kid to the meeting point.

Good to Know

• For the Christmas holidays & school holidays in February, we recommend you book early in advance due to high demand

• Ski equipment is not included in the price of the lesson

• Please make sure your kid has skis, ski boots, helmet, gloves & sunglasses or goggles at the start of the lesson

• During our courses we are always wearing a helmet

• It is possible to switch between different skill levels during the course if a participant's abilities improve quickly

• The maximum group size is 6 participants per group
