Experience this unique via ferrata during which you will descend from the beautiful mountain village of Mürren. Take in the panoramic view of the surrounding Alps while you climb down steep walls, and cross deep gorges, feeling like a special agent in a Hollywood movie.
Tour programme- Preparation:
We meet at the Intersport Mürren store at the time specified on your booking confirmation. Here, you will receive the necessary equipment for your via ferrata journey. You will also be given some instructions on the proper use of your equipment as well as a detailed safety briefing. After that, we're ready to go!
- Tour:
The start of the tour is fairly easy, but we will soon reach the 'Hammerecke' where you will be treated to spectacular views of the steep Mürrenfluh wall beneath your feet. We will continue our tour past the base jumping platform until we reach the zip line with which we will glide across to the other side of the mountain wall. Finally, we cross the suspension bridge which takes us right over the 400m steep Mürrenbach gorge to our final destination of Gimmelwald.
- Arrival:
The tour ends in Gimmelwald, from where we either take the cable car back up to Mürren, or down to Stechelberg.

Book the guide. Having done a few summits back in the states and having a level of comfortability on trails I went back and forth on this. I’m so glad I booked this with a group. The guide gave very helpful guidance on the most challenging parts and really made it much more enjoyable. The exposure is safe but still very real. Knowing someone trained is there to support in case something unexpected happens was worth the cost.
