Take your first step into the world of scuba diving with our trial scuba diving in Cala Vidré or Cala Sant Jordi, starting from Sant Jordi d'Alfama. With certified instructors who are also marine biologists and all the gear you need, explore the crystal-clear waters and see colourful fish and other sea creatures. It's a fun adventure for anyone, adults or kids from 8 years old. Dive in and discover the amazing world under the sea in beautiful coast and surroundings. One of our instructors will guide you through this adventure, giving you a brief theoretical class on how to dive, how to properly prepare scuba gear, put on the suit, and much more!
You will do some simple exercises to give you confidence and peace of mind in this wonderful adventure where you will learn to breathe underwater! Then, you will dive directly from the beach, where you can reach depth of up to 5 meters, for about 30 to 35 minutes. We will conduct this activity directly on the beach so you can truly learn to dive safely in the sea and discover a new passion.
Dive area
Starting from Sant Jordi d'Alfama, we will head by boat to either Cala Vidré or Cala Sant Jordi. Depending on the weather conditions, but we will always find a suitable place to do the activity. Nevertheless, since this is a beginner's lesson, we will make sure to choose a site where there are only few waves and a weak current.
Programme- Meeting & Preparation:
We will meet next to the Castle of Sant Jordi d'Alfama, at the wooden hut, 10 minutes before the booked time. Our base is located in Sant Jordi d'Alfama and is very close to the dives areas. If you come by car, there are free parking places close from our dive centre. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by your instructor, who will give you a briefing on marine biology, focusing on the most easily recognizable species, as well as explanations about safety, equipment, and activity organization. Then, we will gear up. You can ask us any questions at any time! After that, we will go to the sea to the dive areas. Both coves are part of the beautiful Costa Dorada, known for its stunning beaches, clear waters, and picturesque landscapes. They are popular destinations for tourists seeking scenic spots for swimming, diving, and enjoying the Mediterranean environment. Then get ready for your first underwater experience and tons of fun.
- Diving:
When out in the sea, the lesson will take place either in Cala Vidré or Cala Sant Jordi in a 1-on-2 format, meaning you will with your instructor and another participant. Together with your instructor, you'll be able to dive up to 5 meters. You will also be shown the hand signals used for communicating underwater, as well as the correct breathing techniques.
- Return:
Once the activity is over, we will take you back to our base. There, you can get your belongings back, change clothes and enjoy a snack and a water bottle included in this activity.
