Rafting on the Arachthos River offers a captivating encounter with unspoiled nature, ideal for an active day outdoors. The third navigable part of Arachthos is arguably the most beautiful in Greece, featuring an easy route through the Arachthos Canyon. Along the way, you will encounter caves, waterfalls, and the mesmerizing underground river of Klifki, providing visual delights at every turn.
Our excursions prioritize water safety and enjoyment, catering to participants of all levels. We start with easy parts and move on to exciting challenges. Finally, we navigate under the Politsas Bridge, the biggest stone bridge in the Balkans, full of history, to finish off with an amazing experience!
Tour programme- Preparation:
We meet at our base in Tzoumerka at the booked time. There are free car parks available next to the base. You will receive the equipment from us and put it on in the changing rooms. Our guide will then introduce you to the technique of paddling and talk about safety instructions. Then, the excursion can begin and we will drive to the starting point.
- Tour:
The beginning of our tour is not demanding and gives you the time to practice paddling and look at nature. We will continue our way along the river through crystal clear waters of the Arachthos Canyon, lush vegetation, and beautiful stone bridges like the Politsas Bridge and the Plaka Bridge.
- Return:
Our tour will conclude at Plaka Bridge, which is close to our base. There are toilets, hot water showers, and changing rooms, so you can change into dry clothes and warm up after this exciting tour.

Will this be too challenging if my group has never done it before?
No, the tour is suitable for all levels. The trip starts on an easy section of the river to give you time to practice, before moving on to more exciting but still moderate rapids (difficulty class II-III).
Do I need to know how to swim, and is it safe for children?
Yes, all participants must know how to swim. There is no official minimum age for children, but parents must take full responsibility for their participation. Please note that it is not possible to end the tour early.
Where can I store my personal belongings and valuables during the activity?
You can leave your personal belongings in the changing rooms at the base, where you will return to after the tour.
