Details

Don't miss the opportunity to discover one of the most spectacular areas of Sardinia during our boat trip to Figarolo and Capo Figari with dolphin watching! Starting from the Marina of Olbia, we will navigate for around 25 minutes on our comfortable RIB to reach Figarolo Island: there we will move at a really low speed and observe the dolphins that come to this area because of a fish farming plant. Without interfering with them, with a bit of luck we will be able to see them swim and jump just a few metres away from our boat! After the observation, we will head to Capo Figari, where we will stop to snorkel near its impressive limestone promontory. There will be a second stop to swim in the clear waters of Cala Moresca or close by the Figarolo Island, where if we're lucky we will spot the small colony of mouflons that lives on the island. At the end of the excursion, we will enjoy together a small apéritif before heading back to the Marina.
Highlights - Dolphin watching with a nature biologist guide - Swimming & snorkeling stops around Capo Figarolo - Small savoury snack with drink on board
Departure & Return We'll meet at the MOYS - Marina di Olbia Yachting Services 15 minutes before the scheduled time. (You will find many free parking areas close by, plus there's a bus stop 500 metres away from the Marina). Please reach the marina through the village, the entrance is via Piovene 7, not Via Isola Cavallo!

A beautiful sunny morning spent discovering dolphins around the boats. Two lovely snorkeling spots. Tito (Tiziano) is very friendly and attentive.

I will try to give the most objective review possible despite my disappointment with this experience entitled "Dolphin Watching with a Marine Biologist Guide." I booked through this website because it offered an excursion with a French-speaking guide. Upon arrival, it turned out that our skipper didn't speak any French at all. I disputed the trip because it didn't correspond to what I had booked. We were promised that this wouldn't change anything about the excursion (my first surprise: weren't we supposed to be told about the dolphins during the trip? Of course we were...). Given my very limited English and the fact that I had children aged 8 and 12, it promised to be difficult. They insisted that we take our places on board, offering us compensation of 30% of the excursion price. Okay, we made an effort and decided to make the best of a bad situation! Luckily, we spotted the dolphins quite early on during the boat trip. We were thrilled, we tracked them, tried to photograph them… for 10 minutes… and then we were off again! With one or two anecdotes about the dolphins, our skipper, although very friendly, was certainly about as much of a marine biologist as I am the Queen of England! I now understand why having a French-speaking guide isn't so important! And my second surprise: weren't we supposed to observe the dolphins for 30 to 50 minutes? Afterwards, we went to two snorkeling spots, beautiful admittedly, but which could easily have been shortened to allow for more dolphin watching, the whole point of the excursion! Once back on dry land, we were greeted by a highly unfriendly manager who was clearly still smarting from the 30% compensation and who accused us of speaking perfect English… well, obviously, since I'm the Queen of England!! In summary, a disappointing outing, clearly what I call a tourist trap, slightly compensated by a friendly skipper who did his best to make the trip enjoyable despite the language barrier, and a magnificent environment thanks to the turquoise waters.

Everything was perfect. Great guide, beautiful spots for snorkeling and wildlife sightings. The children were especially happy.
