The Vacca Canyon is perhaps the most difficult to access but it needs to be earned! It offers an unforgettable descent into deep gorges between impressive granite cliffs. Expect a very aquatic canyon, a real "secret" descent in the middle of a breathtaking wilderness setting. Your certified-instructor will be there to help you enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Aiguilles de Bavella, in complete safety. To finish the canyon, you will nevertheless have to maintain 5hrs of sustained physical effort: this descent is therefore reserved for enduring athletes.
Tour programme- Preparation:
We meet at our office in Zonza (if you arrive from northern Corsica we can arrange a meeting directly at the canyon location). There, we will provide you with your equipment before taking the cars again to get to the start of the canyon (it takes about 30min). After an approach walk of about 50min (be warned, the walk takes place in the mountains so it is rather physical), we will reach the beginning of the canyon. One last break for the briefing and let the descent begin!
- Tour:
4 to 5hrs will be necessary to master this aquatic canyon. Swimming passages in long reaches with enchanting emerald waters will alternate with fun jumps up to 9m, for the most adventurous (but always avoidable) and a abseiling descent.
- Arrival:
A 1,5-hour return walk, still in the mountains and with a significant difference in altitude, is to be expected before reaching your car. You can then resume your holiday with your head full of beautiful memories.

Amazing canyoning, stunning scenery, lots of jumps! Top-notch guide! The downhill hike to the canyon takes almost 45 minutes, and the uphill hike back (+400m) takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. But the canyon is definitely worth the effort! It wasn't very crowded when we went.
