If you want to make the most of your holiday in Sicily, you cannot miss our trekking to Mount Etna and the Gole dell'Alcantara. After picking you up from your hotel, we will head towards Mount Etna along the scenic Mareneve road and our guide will tell you stories and legends about Europe's highest volcano.
Our adventure will begin after a short stop at a refuge at 1,500 metres. Here we will show you the itinerary, and you can rent trekking shoes free of charge if you don't have them. We will begin the walk by visiting the 2002 lava flow, which destroyed several ski resorts and the Ragabo pine forest. We will then reach the summit of the lateral craters, from where we will have a magnificent view of this extraordinary landscape. Equipped with helmet and torch, we will also enter the Grotta dei Ladroni, a lava tunnel!
For lunch, we will stop at a restaurant at an altitude of 1,500 metres. In the afternoon, we will head to the Gole dell'Alcantara, an impressive canyon of lava stone carved out over millennia by the force of the Alcantara river. After this exciting day, we will take you back to your hotel.
